Microneedling, also known as Collagen Induction Therapy, is the practice of inserting extremely fine needles into the skin at a minimal depth for the purpose of tissue rejuvenation. The concept is simple – create a “micro” wound and the skin will respond by producing collagen and elastin, and creating new skin cells. This in turn smooths, firms, and brightens the skin (think no-tox Botox!).
Depending on the depth of needle penetration, microneedling can be used to treat and improve conditions such as fine lines and wrinkles, loose skin, acne, scars, stretch marks, under-eye “bags”, and issues pertaining to skin texture and pigment. Microneedling can even be applied to the scalp to promote hair growth.

Nanoneedling is a more gentle version of microneedling that activates only the outermost epidermal layer of the skin and not the deeper dermal layer. Instead of applying extremely fine needles to the skin as is done in microneedling, in this technique extremely fine, whisker-like silicone strands are applied. The silicone strands do not penetrate the skin but rather separate the cells of the epidermal layer.
Like microneedling, nanoneedling has a rejuvenating effect on the appearance of the skin and can also be used to address fine lines, sagging skin, under-eye puffiness and pigmentation. This treatment can be done more frequently than microneedling treatment and there is no associated downtime. Nanoneedling can be done in between monthly microneedling sessions to accelerate results or as a stand-alone treatment for an immediate lift and glow!
